Dr. Brown’s research focuses on improving access to effective treatments for pelvic floor disorders. She has previously received funding from the Wisconsin Multidisciplinary K12 Research Career Development program, the Wisconsin Partnership Program, and the NIDDK supported program: PLUS. In partnership with the Wisconsin Institute for Healthy Aging and the Community Academic Aging Research Network, Dr. Brown’s research team developed a community-based program that improves bladder and bowel continence in older women. Mind Over Matter: Healthy Bowels, Healthy Bladder is the only continence promotion program in the country that has been reviewed by the National Council on Aging and deemed eligible for inclusion in the evidence-based pre-approved list of programs eligible to be supported by U.S. Administration for Community Living (ACL) Title III-D or other applicable discretionary funding from ACL
